Patient Testimonials
Travis Walk Dental Care,
In the past, I hesitated going to the dentist for regular checkups because when I was growing up, taking care of my teeth was not considered important or a priority. As I got older I realized that I was speaking without moving my lips, not smiling very often and talking with my mouth partially covered.
Then about a year ago, I made an appointment at Travis Walk Dental Care with Dr. Miranda. The night before my first visit, Dr Miranda called me at home to get an understanding of what type of care I needed. His call made me feel like he was genuinely concerned about my health and creating a smile that I would be comfortable with.
After each treatment, I knew that I would be receiving a call later that night from Dr. Miranda or someone on his staff making sure that I was doing okay.
Now my friends tell me that I smile more often now then in the past and I seemed to be more outgoing. I know now that I can move my lips when I speak and not be afraid that someone will notice my teeth.
Thanks to Dr. Miranda and the rest of the gang at Travis Walk Dental Care for giving a nice smile!
Best Wishes,
Cecil Jackson
Dear Dr. Miranda -
There are so many things I want to cover and it is difficult by e-mail...however, your office is not open. So on Monday you will all have a note to laugh about!
First, I just cannot believe the way you handled my problems. I had visions of scalpels, perhaps saws, gigantic needles, etc.
I had told you that I had not gone to a dentist in YEARS AND YEARS simply out of fear! My degrees are all in Psychology so you would think I would be able to comprehend and overcome my fears. I have been studying you, Dr. Miranda. I cannot quite grasp the personage of Joseph M Miranda, DDS. I can only say thank you for handling me with kid-gloves, walking through the information, while literally keeping my feelings and fears in the forefront. No doubt you have a gift! And, no doubt The Great Physician was leaning over your shoulder! Thank you, again and again.
You know that our resources have blown away with my last 4 years of hospital stays and so many surgeries and my husband's MRSA requiring so many surgeries and medications and hospital stays resulting in amputation of one foot so far. We did not know what to do. I needed the work done - I know it was a hindrance to me possibly getting better physically. We have sold my car which of course did not pay the dental bill but helped a lot....I wondered if we had done the right thing to go in debt etc. Now, I believe we made a wise choice to do so. And, I believe we made a very wise choice in choosing YOU. Thank you.
This is for YOU Dr Miranda. Our son is a Colonel in the United States Air Force. He is a flight surgeon. At present he is in charge of all production of experimental medicines for approval of use. Very smart young man. Very good young man. Anyway, he has begged and begged me to "go to the dentist". When he found out about you he was more than elated! He is calling constantly - so excited that you are putting me "out" because I have been too scared to go to a dentist. So....because of the things my husband and I have relayed to him regarding your compassion as well as your work, you have someone you have never met that really appreciates you!
OK....so you can all laugh - I enjoyed the ear phones piping in music. Great idea. You know there was a lady who had a standing appointment with her hairdresser. But, she always wore ear phones. It was driving all the women in the salon crazy, trying to work around those ear phones. Finally they decided the next time she came in they were going to just rip them off! Sure enough, she came in as always with her ear phones on, and as they had decided, they ripped them off of her head. And SHE DROPPED DEAD! They were all mortified - so one of the ladies held up the ear phone to hear what the lady always listened to.......here is what she heard -
"Breathe in.....Breathe out....Breathe in....Breathe out" etc.

Dear Joe (Hero) and Kristi:

My whitening experience was a pleasurable experience! Priscilla provided a calming atmosphere & ensured that I was completely comfortable at all times. I was a tad skeptical but the results were instant. Priscilla provided a comprehensive & detailed outline of :
-------What was going to happen
-------each step of the process
-------do's & don'ts
she answered all questions & provided info that I didn't consider to ask. We went over my “homework” to continue the process at home. First rate all the way. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a pearly smile.
The entire staff is AWESOME!
Jama Plotts, Dallas,TX
In the beginning I felt embarrased, knowing that my problems were my fault but trying to fix it with little expense. My experiences were horrible! This time I came to talk to Dr. Miranda who has to be one of the kindest dentists I have met. He made me feel comfortable from the beginning, promising not to do anything I was uncomfortable with. I can't believe the results I have received with very little discomfort.
I am so happy! It was worth the time and every penny!
Thanks so much,
Mandie Floyd, Denton, TX
Dear Dr. Miranda,
I want to thank you and your staff for making my implant procedure such wonderful experience. I am so very pleased with the resluts, not only esthetically but mentally as well. In summation, you and your practice exemplify the words PROFESSIONAL and CARING. Anything that was remotely uncomfortable during this process was remedied by your quick wit! Thank you for all that you have done for me, there are no words to tell you how much I appreciate it.
Beth Lovelady-Knight
Dr. Joe Miranda is such a wonderful dentist with his experience and compassion. I don't live in Dallas, I live in Des Moines but If I did, I would definitely choose to be his patient. I trust him to care for my family and friends.
Dr. Steffany Mohan
Dr. Joe Miranda is truly committed to caring for his patients. I have attended several courses and lectures with Joe. His enthusiasm for his profession, his commitment to continuing education and his knowledge, particularly in the area of Dentistry for Diabetics is inspiring.
Michael J. Goldberg, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.
Joe,
Thousand Thanks for fixing my tooth on Sunday. I'm sure there were many other things you'd rather be doing on your Sunday!
Thanks again,
Holly
Dear Dr. Miranda,
A personal “Thank You” for being so kind to me on my April 19th visit. I appreciate your strong sense of professionalism!

Dr. Miranda,
WOW! I can't believe that is really me when I look in the mirror. But it is and I have you to Thank for my beautiful front teeth. There really are no words to express my gratitude so I can only say Thank You. Thank you so much.

To Whom It May Concern:
As a practicing dentist for 30 years, I recognize Dr. Joseph Miranda as the best in my opinion. He is the dentist I would refer my family and friends to. By the way… he is my dentist. I trust him completely with my health.
Richard L. Lepard, D.D.S., Dallas, Tx.
I am very happy with the service and how professional the staff are. All I can say is that if you're afraid of going to the dentist, Travis Walk Dental Care will take that fear away. It makes going to the dentist a lot of fun with their “spa-like” atmosphere.
Rafiq S., Dallas, Tx.
I can't imagine going to any other dentist than Dr. Miranda. He made such a difference in my life! I was always ashamed of my teeth and hated going to the dentist. He redid my whole mouth when in my 60's and made me proud of my smile. He's so gentle and caring while working on you. I lost my fear of dentistry- he's the greatest!
Kitty Shaw, Dallas, TX
When I finally made the decision to restore damage to my top and bottom teeth, I knew immediately what office was going to handle my dental plan. I had seen Dr. Miranda's skill with porcelain crowns through a friend and was extremely pleased with what I saw. My only problem was being an uneasy patient. That was not a problem at this office! Dr. Miranda, as well as his staff, could not have been any better for me. I am greeted with a smile every single time I step into the office. Everyone knew my name, although I can hardly remember all the people who helped me throughout my whole treatment! The look of my teeth, and even my mouth blew me away! I never expected so much in how it changed my smile!
Constantly looking in the mirror,
Jerod Starch, Dallas, TX
First of all I want to thank you for my new smile. I am no longer afraid to smile. You have helped me a great deal during my recovery of domestic violence. You await a lovely crown up in heaven. There are a million women out there still confused and in abusing relationships. I wish I had the power to reach each one of them so that I can tell them; there is a happy life out here, after leaving the abuser. I forgave my abuser, which is part of recovery, but I will never forget or even blame myself for it. Not anymore. We all deserve the best. Dr. Miranda, you have made a difference in my life, how could anyone ever forget a good-hearted loving man, who took the time to repair what another had damaged. I could never repay the kindness and the importance you gave to me. Every time I see myself in the mirror and smile I give thanks to God for the angel he sent my way. God bless you, your staff and your beautiful family. Again, thank you.
Gloria Stanum, Dallas, TX
Dr. Miranda, Thank you for helping me overcome my fear of the dentist. As you know, I had 6-8 teeth filled with those unattractive silver fillings. Several of the fillings were “deep”, but all of them were deteriorating and needed to be replaced. I was full of anxiety! The sedation pill you discussed with me was literally A MIRACLE! I used this pill twice to remove and replace all of those unsightly silver fillings. I felt absolutely NOTHING. I no longer have anxiety over that root canal I am one day bound to have. It's all because of that miracle pill!
Thank you all for your patience and coaxing over this pill. I now have a mouth full of beautiful, white teeth! I call it my ‘bling' smile!
Shari Gustafson, Dallas, TX
I have always been afraid of going to the dentist. I had always had bad experiences in one way or the other with all the other dentists that I have had.
With Dr. Miranda & his staff, I have always felt that I was the only patient that they had. They have all been very helpful with me. I would recommend Dr. Miranda to anyone that would benefit from personal & pain-free dental work. Dr. Miranda & his staff get an A+ for all their services.
Wanda Edge, Dallas, TX
Where do I start? I have anxiety about going to the Dentist, but Dr. Miranda with that precious smile and gentle nature, just melts that anxiety away. And the girls, oh my gosh, Dr. Miranda you are so blessed to have a team of ladies so caring, calming, and uplifting, that every visit is as relaxing as the last. Makes me try harder as a patient to do my part. I do appreciate the amenities in your powder room and the coffee/snack bar (a real plus), but the kindness of you and your staff make it all worthwhile : )
Jeanette Moran, Dallas, TX

Joe,
Thanks again for your great presentation today and your willingness to share with the group. Your tips were insightful and your experience invaluable. Thanks for making it a worthwhile experience for everyone.
Congrats on all of your practice success. You have accomplished some great things over the last couple of years. You are a whole different person with a whole different practice. Thanks for making us part of your journey.
Thanks again for all you contribute to us and to the profession.

Dear Dr. Miranda,
I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for a job well done! My fear of dentists has kept me from having the smile that I deserve.
One day while reading the newspaper, I ran across your ad for sedation dentistry. Being the skeptical person I am, I thought…no way!!! Curiosity got the best of me, so I called. From the moment I spoke to Dana, I knew that I had made the right decision.
Aside from the fact that it was pain free, the respect and kindness I received from your staff was wonderful. I now smile when there is nothing to smile about. My co-workers have all noticed a change in my attitude and self-esteem, all because of you.
I now look forward to regular cleanings and check-ups.
Thanks again, Dr. Miranda,
Sincerely,
Connie Zax
Dr. Miranda and Staff,
I would like to thank everyone for his or her hard work and kindest. It had been awhile since I was really able to smile. I have had some bad experiences in the past with the dental profession. After reading the column in the newspaper I cut it out and put it in my wallet to carry, I would read it about once a week to build my confidence to get some much needed dental work done. After about a year of procrastination I decided to make an appointment with your office. The visit was much more than I expected, the staff was very nice and a true concern about my dental health. I would recommend your services to anyone who is uncomfortable with dentist.
Thank You.
William Love
Dear Dr. Miranda and staff,
So, so true! Once again Thanks, Dr. Miranda for giving me a new breath of life! It has given me confidence to once again make necessary phone calls for several of my organizations. It makes me active once again and has me dong something not many folks like doing.
Also, in a group setting I'm not so hesitant about making comments. Truly I'm more sure of myself. It doesn't mean I've solved all the difficulties getting use to my bridges especially the uppers, it just helps having them in place without the bottoms.(the bottoms are a cinch, even to eat!)
Thanks for having the faith in me, you, Dr. Miranda are God's work of art!
God bless each and every one of you for caring.
Peace,
Annie T. Jones
To the Rembrandt of Dentistry: Dr. Miranda
Thanks for giving out of your way…..
We just wanted to Thank You once again for the wonderful job you did. The confidence that you showed gave me the confidence to do something that I always wanted to do! It is not very often that you find someone in any profession that is not only at the top of their game but has the courtesy, kindness & genuine interest that you take with your patients. You have mixed modern day technology with outstanding values & standards. You are truly a miracle worker!
Thank You again,
Tony & Nancy
Dr. Miranda,
I wanted to thank you so much for taking time out of your day off to fix my front tooth. You did such a beautiful job and gave me back the confidence to smile again. You are a wonderful dentist and I will be sure to let everyone know about you.
Thanks again,
Kristin Pinkston
P.S. Your receptionist is very sweet as well, so be sure to thank her for me!
Dr. Miranda,
Got your note the other day. Thank You for thinking of me. I hope all is well with you and your family. How is your health? How is Travis Walk?
I know things have not always been smooth between us but I wanted to let you know that I would not be the hygienist I am had it not been for you. You are a great mentor and a true believer in my abilities as well as my education. I will carry the tools you have given me for a lifetime. It was not always easy but it has made me a very confident hygienist. Thank You!
I had a terrified patient today. After his appointment with me, he told me that it was the best experience he has ever had and felt very comfortable thanks to me. That is the best compliment you can get and it makes everything you do worthwhile. It is nice to know that you have made a difference in someone's life.
Thanks also for the support of my mission trip to Romania last year. It truly was a life changing experience. I went to Guatemala this year with the same organization and I am thinking about a trip to Africa.
Please keep me posted on your status and always let me know if there is anything I can ever do. Thanks again and talk with you soon.
Best regards,
Lisa Sharp, R.D.H.
Dear Dr. Miranda,
I just wanted to give you a follow up on the work you did for me starting in 1988. First of all you taught me how to take of the work you did. That has saved me many dollars and much pain. Every time I go to a new dentist they want to know who did the work in my mouth. They are impressed greatly. They should be. I have not found a dentist that measures up to since we retired and left Dallas. I have been to three so far. But I am keeping up my hygiene as you taught me and my teeth are great.
I hope you have been greatly successful and that I wish I lived closer since I know you are the best.
Thank you,
Karen Davis
Until coming to Travis Walk Dental Care, my fear of dentists was enough to have kept me away for years. As a result, there was quite a bit of work to do to make up for lost time.
All of the staff have been a pleasure to work with. Every visit puts me at ease, and I feel confident I am under the best care. Knowing that continuing education is so important to Travis Walk, I'm certain they are doing the latest dental procedures, so that my time in the chair is as effective as possible. I couldn't ask for better service or nicer people. The care I receive is top-notch, they've earned a customer for life!
Lisa Stanley
Dear Dr. Miranda,
I am sorry I have not taken the time to appreciate the unprecedented work that you have done to my teeth to change my smile. I am still amazed how big of a difference it has made in life. Before I came to the U.S. I had some work done to my teeth, back then I thought it looked cool, I was only sixteen at the time. I went to my dentist and asked him what could be done to change my smile, and he suggested for me to wear silver jackets on my four upper front teeth. But after a few years of wearing them I started to hate them because, first of all, I couldn't keep them as clean as I wanted, so I removed them myself. I hated them so much don't even remember how I took them off myself. When I removed them, they left an unattractive look to my teeth, it left unwanted gaps. So I kept them like for quite some time and left me unsatisfied with my smile, until one day, when I was at my YMCA, I noticed a fitness magazine. This magazine was the answer to my problems, I ended up reading your ad, which explained how much of a difference you could do to people's lives using your procedure. I was so amazed and excited, that I went ahead and called the number in your ad to make an appointment. At first I was a little intimidated, because I thought only people with great wealth could afford those kind of treatments, but after meeting with you and you explained all the different options and showed me how affordable this could be and what a dramatic change it can do, I decided to go do something good for me for a change. It's been almost three years and I realized how dramatic it has altered my life and for the better. It ultimately improved my self-confidence and enormously also it has improved my life style. So in closing I wish to thank you and your staff and special thanks to Jamie and all of your wonderful personnel also.
Sincerely,
Juan Paramo
Dr. Miranda,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff for my recent visit. Forever ago, I had a problem I wrote about, so it only right that I offer my thanks for a positive one. I had work done this week that cost me about a grand. It seems odd to thank someone for taking a thousand dollars from you. I think the last time was Serendipity at the Tropicana. You know what they say, “what happens in Vegas…hopefully isn't contagious.” I digress. Lindsay treated me superbly even calling later in the day to make sure I was doing well. I missed her call as I was napping like a baby. You know, curled up in the fetal position constantly drooling. When I first started coming to your office, it was like going to the dentist. Over time, my comfort level has increased to the point that visiting your office is like meeting with my financial advisor, not exactly happy hour but a good feeling that my future is being cared for. One day, I hope my visits will become like going to the hair salon, where the work is just minor upkeep, and we can spend all our time discussing who should be booted off American Idol. Thanks again to you and your staff for taking my dental health more seriously than I do.
Sincerely,
Rich Raimond
Dear Dr. Joe, Priscilla, Dana and all,
On a scale of 1 to 100% of dental phobia, I was at least in the 95% bracket when I first called Travis Walk Dental Care. Precious Dana must have spent at least 45 minutes with me that first morning that I called. She did not know me at all! But she was the best listener I had ever talked to and the best explainer, also. Because of her kind manner, gentle voice and professional answers…I did make an appointment.
With fear and trembling I arrived with my husband dragging me into your office. We went through the initial informative visit, but I still was scared silly! DH brought me back for the X-ray and exam through which I sweated buckets! With his encouragement I paid for the whole recommended procedure-In full (with discount). He said that once I had paid for it then I wouldn't back out-ha ha!
The appointment was set. I took the pre procedure medicines including the sedative on the night before. I followed further instructions that morning. We got to the office and you know what??? I was so scared that I never relaxed! I was still bright eyed and bushy tailed and NO ONE was going to work in mouth while I knew it! You see? I told you I was a major dental phobic! We rescheduled the appointment to include Dr. Canfield, anesthesiologist.
Something happened and the second appointment had to be rescheduled. If I had not already paid up front I would have probably backed out and ya'll would have never seen me again! But wise husband had made sure that my mouth would be where my money was- smart, eh?
Finally, the day arrived. DH had me there by 6am and we were set to go. Quickly I knew NOTHING! And that is the way I wanted it. About 5 hours later, my brother-in-law drove me home and I slept the rest of the day and night. Dr. Joe called. Dr. Canfield called. Everyone was concerned about me. How nice!
The next big appointment was set for putting on the permanent caps. We arranged for Dr. Canfield again. This appointment was much shorter and of course I slept all through it. Believe me… that's the way to go! Have a good nap and next thing you know all your dental work is done.
So last week I had my very last appointment. It was sorda sad to know that I won't be seeing all of the lovely Travis Walk Dental people on a regular basis. But I'll be back every three months and meanwhile I am no longer afraid to come by myself, or sit in the chair, or open wide. Most of all, I'm no longer afraid to SMILE really big and let others see my beautiful AND healthy teeth!
Sincerely,
Julia Becker Ball
I love how Jessica explains every procedure to me. My dental health has actually improved as a result of the information I've learned from her. She also has such a pleasant disposition...especially for so early in the morning!
Heather Pauzer
Your staff always gives me a warm welcome and calls me by name. Jessica and the other staff members are very professional and courteous. Also, I appreciate seeing the same hygienist who knows my history.
Sincerely
Lynn Poer
All outstanding.
Davis McLane
I thought everybody was very nice especially Tanya and the dentist. Everyone one was very sweet and definitely would recommend you guys to family and friends.
Besijana Abdulai
Jessica was fantastic. I've never had anyone take the time to explain what they were doing at a dental visit and she was obviously concerned with making sure that my dental health goals are met, and that I clearly understood what was going on throughout every step of the process. I can't say I have ever recommended a dentist to a friend before, but I told the other couples at our bible study last night that they need to switch dentists to Dr. Miranda and make sure they ask for Jessica as their hygienist. Thank you!
Dave Wallace
Everyone was nice and didn't look at me with disgust. I have hope. I am excited about getting a beautiful smile. Thank you.
Melissa Brady
Everyone in your office is terrific. Your customer service is superb! I have been more than pleased with the service and the hospitality I have received at your office since my first visit.
Melinda Adams
For the first time in my life, I had a good dental visit. I was scared and upset and everyone made me feel at home and secure. I am thankful I found your practice and finally feel comfortable enough to continue a very long overdue dental care treatment with you. I have many major problems, but am hopeful now. Thank you for helping me.
Wendy Isselhardt
Lindsey is wonderful, thorough and gentle. She explains everything very well before proceeding and that is comforting.
Patrick Buchen
LOVE the staff! Thanks :)

Dear Dr. Miranda,
Again, my thanks and appreciation for our expertise.
Yours,
Tony Beck Bosner
The entire process was amazingly warm and caring. Other than a little pressure, I didn't feel a thing when Dr. Miranda extracted my teeth. The staff are all so cheerful and genuine, it's almost fun to go to the dentist!
L.G. Davis
Dr. Miranda's expertise saved my broken tooth other dentists wanted to give up on. I still have that tooth and it fits perfectly with the others around it. He and his excellent staff help me keep my teeth healthy and attractive. They watched for any changes and two visits a year seen to keep everything in order. I feel like I'm well cared for.
Jimmy Monk
I was scared to go back to the dentist after a bad experience that I had when I was younger. One day I saw an ad for Dr. Miranda in the paper and decided to give it a try. I hadn't been to the dentist in at least 15 years. I had major issues with my teeth. When I first got to his office his whole staff set out to lay my fears to rest. They took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and unafraid. And because of that I have a healthier mouth and now am looking forward to my new teeth. Thanks to Dr. Miranda and his most excellent team.
Thank You! Thank You!
