Joseph M. Miranda, DDS
Dr. Miranda teaches other doctors inside and outside of his practice. He utilizes his extensive training and experience to treat your needs from routine dental services and treatment to the most challenging dental situations. He has been delivering cosmetic, implant, and functional solutions to patients for over 23 years. His commitment to “doing it right” and ability to “handle just about anything” has won him the admiration of patients and other doctors. A big bonus is that Dr. Miranda uses his expertise to prevent big problems from ever happening.
Dr. Miranda graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1986 accruing well over 1800 hours of Post Graduate training and completed numerous advanced certifications in Comprehensive Restorative, Sedation, and Esthetic Dentistry.
He has been helping patients so they can enjoy eating and smiling again with dental implants since 1986. He has developed special methods of implant restorative dentistry to “rescue” the denture patient and those with debilitated teeth needing complete reconstructions. He has also developed special techniques in sedation dentistry for the fearful patient. This combined with advanced techniques allow even the most compromised individual to return to a life of enjoying dental health.
Advanced learning and the implementation of new technologies at the leading edge of dentistry is a constant for Dr. Miranda and his team. The friendly team is known for their down to earth and non-technical communication style making even complex dentistry easy to understand.
Dr. Miranda is a member of a group of dentists who are advancing dentistry to include preventing and treating oral health problems that can lead to increased risks for systemic diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and pre-mature and low birth weight babies. As a Center for Dental Medicine, his practice is on the leading edge of diagnosing, preventing, and treating oral health and gum disease in order to not only save teeth, but save your life! One of the most amazing and exciting advances in dentistry has been an increased understanding of the impact of oral health on the rest of the body. Dr. Miranda has a reputation for being at the front of the curve in the most recent trends and thinking in dental health. There is ever increasing support for the multiple connections between oral health and total wellness. Dr. Miranda is part of that group of forward thinking practitioners that are connecting the dots in health care and bridging the gap between dentistry and medicine. Recognized and honored for his charitable works by providing care to abused and battered women, Dr. Miranda has also been honored in both D Magazine and Texas Monthly as Best Dentist and Texas Super Dentist in previous years.

Personal:
As the first in his family to ever graduate college and post graduate school, Dr. Miranda was raised everywhere, as his father was assigned to the Strategic Air Command (SAC) of the USAF. After graduating with high honors in high school, Dr. Miranda enlisted in the USAF thus continuing the tradition established by his father, uncle and brother. Upon his completion of his Air Force commitment, Dr. Miranda completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire where he also graduated with honors.

Whether it is to get the patient back to optimal oral health or to give them the smile they’ve always dreamed of, the patient’s involvement is critical to the outcome. He is an active athlete as a cyclist (endurance events), skiing, and is currently training for a marathon to be run in Rome, Italy on March 22nd 2009. He is entertaining the idea of competing in triathlons but only if they allow arm floaties to be worn in the swimming event.
Dr. Miranda is married to his best friend, Kristi for 18 years and together have the 3 most caring, compassionate, fun-loving children any parent could have (…most of the time).

Lindsay Newhouse, RDH, BS
Following in my dad’s footsteps, my goal is to help others become healthy through dentistry. My very first experience in a dental chair was when my dad pierced my ears! (There were no Claire’s boutiques in small west Texas towns) Interning with my dad’s hygienist, I quickly realized my mission; to teach and encourage others in gaining optimum health through great dental hygiene. I attended Abilene Christian University for 2 years and then was accepted into Baylor College of Dentistry’s Dental Hygiene program where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2004. My husband Scott and I have one son, Austin. When not working, I love to shop, exercise, read, and spend time with my family.
Jessica Pressler, RDH, BS
With a hop in my step, I followed in my grandfathers footsteps and realized that dentistry was my calling! Raised in Greenville, Texas, I attended Texas A & M University transferring to Baylor College of Dentistry graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. . I am married to my fabulous husband Terry and our “child” is our Schnauzer Gracie. I enjoy working at Travis Walk Dental Care with Dr. Miranda and my fellow teammates. I hope that when you visit Travis Walk Dental Care that you will be instantly taken by my charismatic personality! I enjoy my patients and my goal is for each patient to enjoy the care they will receive at Travis Walk Dental Care.
Priscilla Nipp, RDA
Priscilla Nipp- Clinical Assistant, In Office Whitening Goddess, Travis Walk Dental comedian…less we forget Superstar! I’m often mistaken for Priscilla Presley because we look so much alike! Hence, no relation. Native Texan born in the Rio Grande Valley but I can assure you that I am not a “valley girl”!..fur sure. I have 2 beautifully, healthy kids. I am into my 14th year of dentistry with plenty of skill and knowledge. I enjoy softball, basketball, running and spending time with my family. At Travis Walk I strive to make your experience the most pleasant and comfortable as possible. I am eager to improve your oral health as well as brighten your smile! Tanya Julian, RDA, BS
Financial/Business Coordinator
Often referred to as the "dental diva". My friendly smile and cheerful greeting is the first thing you will experience when you walk in our door! I started my voyage into dentistry in 1996 in Washington as a clinical assistant and hygiene coordinator. I moved back to Texas in 2005 after spending 15 years in the Northwest, but I have to say, I miss the snow. My goal is to make every phone call and visit to the dental office an enjoyable one for our patients. I graduated in 2007 from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I have two great children and enjoy spending time with them. In my spare time I also love to read, run, and travel.
